ANTONY’S GUIDE TO BREAKING UP
“Hi, I’m Antony. Recently I broke up with Antonia so I’m pretty clued up on the subject of “Breaking Up”. This is my guide to breaking it off”

I remember when Antonia and I first fell in love. I fell over her books at school and everyone laughed – but Antonia didn’t. She picked me up and dusted me off. And that’s how our love started.

We’d been dating for around six months when it all started turning bad. She liked my haircut so much she wanted to copy it, she liked my habit of chewing my lip and even liked wearing my shoes. She loved everything about me so much that sometimes I thought she wanted to BE me! It was starting to freak me out.

And then I cooled it down and we hardly saw each other for the next few weeks. Ok, so I was avoiding her, but I was sick of hitting my head against a brick wall. We were in each other’s pockets all the time.

In the end I had to leave town. You know, when you just can’t handle another minute of it?

So I jumped on my bike and said goodbye to everyone and never turned back… well, maybe just once.

Why do you fall out of love?

There can be lots of reasons why a relationship doesn’t work. Everyone has different personalities and we’re attracted to a certain personality – but then there can be personality clashes. Like when Violet wears pink and red. That’s a big personality clash.

Sometimes the person you’re with just drives you absolutely up the wall. Everything they say or do makes you mad. You stay in the relationship hoping things will get better but instead you get all messed up inside and start feeling as bitter as a lemon.

Then there are people that get in the way of your relationship. It might be a friend that doesn’t want you to be together or it might be in-laws that do everything in their power to cause trouble. It could even be a poltergeist that starts messing with your feelings. Sophie really liked me and I knew she was getting madder and madder at Antonia. She just couldn’t keep her poltergeist under control.

But whatever it is – you just know in your heart that it’s not right. So then you have to do something about it.

What are your characters’ strengths and weaknesses? I think both my characters weaknesses are each other.

 

What is the most embarassing thing that has happened to you whilst making Atlantis High? While I was playing Antonia my big skirt flew up around my head in a gust of wind! FLASH!

 

What is the best thing or your favourite moment in making Atlantis High? Just working with such talented actors who were soooo funny! People like Mr Dorsey (Ken Blackburn) made me laugh all the time and during takes.

Are you like your character in real life – if so, then in what ways? Not really but sometimes I can go very crazy.

 

What has been your hardest scene to film? Not really a scene that was hard but being Antony and trying to talk like a guy and walk like a guy was hard.

 

What do you do between scenes? Go to school in our special on set school bus! Otherwise just talk and chill out in the greenroom.

 

How would you describe Atlantis High? Atlantis High is a really unique funny show that is the type of show I would watch. An amazing range of characters with a mixture of established and up and coming actors. A bit like Naked Gun but better.

What is your favourite colour? Blue

What is your favourite film? The Princess Bride

What music do you like? I’m very ecclectic! Anything from Counting Crows to Christina Aguilera to Pearl Jam.

 

Have you travelled around – what is your favourite place or places? I have never done any travelling overseas except to Australia. But in New Zealand it would be all the beaches up North.

 

What are your hobbies and interests in time off? Horseriding, singing, dancing and shopping with my friends.

 

What is your favourite quote or phrase – is there a quote that sums you up? Live life to the fullest and live it for love! (corny I know, but I like it).

 

What do you think are the properties of a good actor? Charisma, energy, patience and the ability to take and listen to direction.

 

How would you describe your character? Both Antony and Antonia are very much in love with each other but also a little bit paranoid.

 

What is your character’s personality? Schizophrenic, really podantic but very friendly (most of the time).

At what age did you want to start acting? 5 years old. 

What was your very first tv/movie role? It was a computer advert when I was an extra – I think!

 

When and why did you get an agent? I was 5. My Dad put me in because me and my two older sisters always put on plays and I loved acting.

 

Definitely Bus Driver Dan in Atlantis High. I had so much fun playing him!

 

How did you get the part in Atlantis High? I got asked by Cloud 9 to play the part at the end of Tribe 3 so I didn’t audition.

 

I would want to play Sabrina because she plays such a deviant chick with attitude. I think I might be able to pull that off. he he he.

 

Do you have any favourite Atlantis High scenes? My scenes as Bus Driver Dan!

Were there any embarassing moments whilst filming Atlantis High? Me as Antonia with one of those flimsy skirts and it blew up around my head while filming! Arggghh!

 

What is the best thing about a career in acting? The people you meet and the opportunities you get. It’s awesome!

 

I’d be about to start my last year of high school. Yuck!

Are you hoping to continue with your acting career or do you want to direct/produce/become an astronaut?
I want to finish school and then get back into acting. I love it! But if it doesnt’ work out, I’d like to teach.

What is your all time favourite line of your character? “Gilesy, Gilesy, Gilesy” – Antonia “You want to steal my bus” – Bus Driver Dan

 

What aspect of your character would you like to have? Her spontaneity.

 

If you could play any other role on television, who would it be? The chick of Dark Angel (she kicks butt)

 

If you could have one superpower what would it be? The power to move things or fly or heal! Oh that’s hard!

 

On the beach basking in the sun with everyone I know. Having the bomb time listening to music, dancing and partying til the next day!

 

Which person – living, dead or fictional – do you most identify with? Wonder Woman (hehehe) I don’t know.

 

What book or movie title best describes your life so far? Dazed and Confused

If you could only eat one type of food for the rest of your life, what would it be? Oreo cookies.
